We have had the pleasure of a group of American Medical students in Dec 2017, their focus was medical health care. During their 7 day stay they visited Keta Hospital, ADF medical facility and joined our local medical staff on an outreach programme.
We are looking forward to welcoming Campbell and Suzy with students from Trinity College School, Canada in March 2018. The project they will be concentrating on is Sanitation. Working with local artisans their aim is to build a family toilet unit of up to 6 toilets. This is a very important project due to the lack of toilet provision in the village
In July we are very happy to welcome back the Royal Masonic School for Girls (UK). For many years they have visited us in the summer holidays and run various summer camps. They also partner with local school girls for the duration learning about their home life, cooking, local culture and traditions plus how to wash everything by hand!! They have tirelessly fundraised to help build the new kindergarten at the Atorkor Basic School. We haven’t quite reached our goal of completion, but we are 2/3rds of the way there. They will play a huge part in our Speech and Presentation Day at the Basic school . Last visit they sang and did a fabulous gymnastics display. We cannot wait to see what they will be doing this year.
ADF welcomes groups of 5 or more to the village to help make a difference.
